Lincoln Center of the Arts

Vision Lincoln Center of the Arts (LCA) is the dynamic “Heart of the Arts” at the city’s doorstep, connecting families to the arts and cultural resources of downtown. As a highly requested school, LCA offers an innovative learning environment where students learn with and through the arts, significantly improving the academic performance of all students. Offerings In mathematics, science, writing, and social studies as well as daily music, dance, and visual arts classes, students receive an enriched arts-integrated education. LCA also provides a dual-language program for English and Spanish speakers, as well as high-quality schoolwide performances. Daily classes for students in grades K5-5 are guided by specialists in the LCA Resident Artist Program, which brings arts professionals to work with students and staff. Community Lincoln Center of the Arts is closely linked to the neighborhood. Although some students are living outside of the boundaries, most are living in the community and engaging with its cultural resources. K5 and 1st-grade students visit the Milwaukee Art Museum through the Museum’s K-12 Education Program before a schoolwide field trip to MAM. High school students come back to “The Center” for a production with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Arts Impact residency program while many students continue their arts education at Milwaukee High School of the Arts or other high schools in APW.

The feedback on the school is mainly excellent. Parents are satisfied with the supportive teachers, helpful staff and enriching environment that help students make progress, including for their pupils' future prospects. The personal reviews also revealed that the school encouraged parent communication and support, marking the school's positive performance. However, some posts were not related to academic reality.
