Prasser-Kleczka has been family-owned and operated since its founding by G.I. Prasser in 1868. It all began as a furniture- and undertaking business near South 9th Street, West National Avenue. The business has since grown to two Milwaukee funeral homes. The South Howell Avenue Funeral Home opened its doors in 1954. The South 27th Street Funeral Home welcomed grieving families to its chapel in 1988. While the Bay View Chapel cremation centre is a recent construction that started in 2014. Jerry Kleczka became the first Kleczka in 1965, with his family joining the business in 1970. Today, Jay and Jeff Kleczka own and manage the funeral homes, following the same mission of quality and affordable pricing their father and the Prasser families did before them.
