William B. Summers & Associates Customer Feedback Summary 1. Concerns: Can be a great lawyer but only if you pay him in full. 12k wasn’t enough to make him do anything after retaining him. I could say more things but ill leave it at this. I wouldn’t hire this firm to represent my hamster. 40k bill for a case that never even made it to court yet. Not being disrespectful just being factual. Shirmer isn’t any good either. Thinks he knows it all but I was shown that he has a lot to learn about law and how it works. Files motions knowing they won’t get anywhere just to bill you for time 2. Positive: Fair pricing for the area. Did a great Job communicating and finishing up with a settlement at a reasonable fee. Would highly recommend, if in need of an attorney in the MOV area. 3. Constructive: I felt Secretary was rude 4. Positive: He calls you back in a timely manner. That's odd for most. He also tells you his honest opinion. Hire him. 5. Negative: My son was arrested for a DUI, during the first consultation, I made my biggest concern about him getting ANY jail time. He said the best way to get them to reduce or dismiss charges is by dragging out the proceedings. He never mentioned or corrected me about the avoiding jail time, it was mandatory in the state of Ohio. My son ended up with arrest warrants issued because the attorney's office never informed us, and refused to take responsibility. We missed an earlier appointment because we were told one time that we needed to be there and the next time, we didn't. I don't know how many trips (2 hours round trip) that was some form of the meeting or court appearance that we did try to be present only to find out that (parents & son) didn't have to be present, this happened 3 times. But I still got to pay for his service,  I should have sent in a complaint to the Bar Association, because he did NOT tell me that the jail time was mandatory and no way to get out of that. He wasted our time and money, and was absolutely no help. 6. Positive: Mr. William B. Summers was so helpful and did great, did really good on our case and won. If you’re needing or looking for a lawyer. I would definitely recommend Mr William B Summers. :) 7. Positive: I had a great experience working with William Summers. He was incredibly professional, responsive, and thorough throughout the entire process. From our first conversation, it was clear that he genuinely cared about my case and took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. His attention to detail and calm, confident approach made a stressful situation much more manageable. I felt supported every step of the way and truly appreciated his guidance. I would highly recommend William Summers to anyone in need of reliable and compassionate legal representation. 8. Positive: Bill and his firm are too-notch in the mid-Ohio valley. Bill and Dustin helped me rectify an issue I had with a tenant and took the stress off of me having to handle it myself. Thank you all so much for your help! 9. Positive: Mr. Summers and his staff did an amazing job with representing me in my case. He and his staff dedicated a great deal of time and left no stone unturned. From legal advice to the office staff, I rate them all a five and recommend them to anyone needing legal assistance. 10. Edited on August 27, 2025             Fair warning: It has been determined by the WV Office of Disciplinary Counsel that lawyers have broad discretion to exercise independent professional judgment. This determination was via a complaint that alleged overriding legal and ethical instructions, as well as documented fraudulent billing.             The fraudulent billing includes fabricated phone calls and inflated billable hours via (unopened) automatic emails from the court, all billed by Mr. Summers himself. The firm's position is that "in accordance with the firm's standard engagement letter, he still was obligated to pay for services up to the date of termination." And yet to date, they have declined to pursue that alleged "obligation."             And finally, my experience with the firm's attitude toward adoptive parents is questionable at best. I would highly recommend staying away from them. 11. Positive: Mr. Summers went above and beyond for me and my family. His office is always quick to respond and very prompt and respectful. Mr. Summers will always make the time and treat you like a person and not just a client. If I have any issues in the future he will be the first person I call. 12. Positive: Mr. Summers did an excellent job in taking my case last minute especially. He communicated clearly throughout the whole process to keep me up to speed on everything happening and work through any issues with me, as well as being very supportive in what I was going through! He worked clearly in what was the best interest for me in my case. 13. Positive: AMAZING! He represented me for my divorce & a criminal charge. The charge got dropped! & I got pretty much everything I wanted out of my divorce. Thanks to Mr. Summers, my kids & I got our home back!!! The people that work at his office are so kind too!!! 14. Positive: He did an awesome job with my daughters case he did everything in his power to get minimum sentence as possible 15. Positive: Mr. Summers spent the last year working to help me win custody of my daughter through a multi-jurisdictional case. a great lawyer all around
