I would not recommend this law firm based on my experience.
I retained the firm (Lawyer, Julia Rideg) to assist with an employment settlement matter and expected to pay reasonable fees for meaningful legal work. However, I was surprised by the number of charges for basic communications, including short emails, follow-up messages, and simple requests for updates. It seemed that nearly every interaction resulted in additional charges.
I raised concerns about billing early in the process and specifically asked that unnecessary communications be avoided to prevent further costs. Despite this, I was contacted and billed for additional discussions. I felt there was little effort to minimize costs or consider the financial impact on me as a client.
What was most disappointing is that after substantial legal fees were incurred, my matter ultimately settled at essentially the same offer that had already been available and handled by myself. The fees nearly exhausted my trust funds (2500 cad) and caused significant financial stress.
My advice to anyone considering this firm is to carefully review the retainer agreement and ask detailed questions about how emails, phone calls, status updates, and routine communications will be billed. In my experience, even brief communications resulted in charges, and the overall value did not justify the cost.
