The University of Alberta Faculty of Law is one of Western Canada's best law schools and a leading institution in research and education. The Faculty has been at the forefront of Canadian legal scholarship for more than a century and has nurtured numerous generations of thinkers. Academic excellence is the key to a successful student experience. It ensures that students have a firm professional identity and can graduate college with excellent academic records. UAlberta Law students engage with instructors, faculty, alumni, and the wider community through academic and co-curricular or extracurricular activities. It is crucial to understand student expectations before they enroll in law school and expectations while they are at law school, as well as their experiences and beliefs when they transition to practice or other post-graduate opportunities. The Faculty's time-honored UAlberta Law program is highly advantageous. It is a significant aspect of our learning environment. Our close engagement with the Alberta judiciary and bar is incredibly valuable. While we preserve and promote the basic tenets of law education, we are actively encouraging newer and more innovative ways of doing so. This requires us to be adaptable enough to capture, reflect, and foresee changes in Canada's legal environment. We will thus be adaptable to student requirements and create graduates who are well-rounded and informed and who can work in a variety of settings across Canada and beyond.
