About this business

SGSDance New York Company, Ms. Mendes won the Orchesis scholarship in modern dance from the University of Alberta, and the Mavador Scholarship for Excellence in Ballet Instruction, London England. She holds a Master of Arts with a dance specialization from the University and a Teaching Diploma from the Imperial Society of Teachers Dancing. She worked as a dance instructor for Vimy Ridge Professional Dance Program for 8 years. In 2006, Ms. Mendes taught a modern teacher course to inspire teachers in a creative and technical way. Moreover, in 2000 she adjudicated at the World Track and Field Auditions. She has also adjudicated in Western Canada. Currently, Ms. Mendes is the artistic director/co-owner of SGSDance. She is an instructor of a wide spectrum of dance disciplines at MacEwan University’s Theatre Arts program. She is also an examiner at the junior grades ballet syllabus and international progressions. Ms. Mendes trains regularly and is certified in Alixa Flexible Level 3. She also trains with industry experts in the US. SGSDance Edmonton's Elite Dance Education Centre Our award-winning dance program has operated since 1969 when Sandra Gray founded it. Our history of successful dancers demonstrates our elite training and dedication to each student. Aletheia Mendes & Kylee Hart own SGSDance. We are committed to the development of our dancers.
