YEG Gymnastics started 20 years ago when Berrie Onishenko, the YEG Owner and Cohead Coach, drafted her first business plan to start a gym. Berrie has worked with many athletes from all levels, from Parent & Tot to the Canadian National Team, and has over 20 years of experience with some of Canada's top coaches. Berrie's experience taught her what it takes to be a top-notch coach in business and coaching gymnastics. Berrie was introduced to Nadia Wassef, specialist director and co-head coach of YEG Gymnastics in Jasper, Alberta, in 2010. Berrie was training at Revolution Gymnastics in Waterloo, Ontario, while Nadia Wassef was Head Coach at Jasper Gymnastics Club. Nadia and Berrie met in Edmonton, where they coached for 10 years. Together, they realized their dream of forming a business that was safe and quality and also taught gymnastics. What inspires them the most is making an impact on children's lives. YEG Gymnastics opened its doors in the summer of 2021. Our address is convenient, located in West Edmonton, just off the Yellowhead Freeway and Anthony Henday Drive. YEG Gymnastics is Edmonton-owned and professionally managed by Edmonton gymnastics experts. Our ownership and management are a part of this community. YEG Gymnastics is kid-friendly and family-friendly. We emphasize quality and detail. You will notice our approach to every detail as soon as you enter our facility. This gym's coaching and mentorship are of the same quality. Every child should feel safe and comfortable so that they can truly express themselves and be given quality coaching and mentorship.
