Arc'teryx Kitsilano: The company is at the base of the North Shore Mountains in North Vancouver. The company uses harsh mountain environments for testing its own skiing and climbing equipment. This is a unique city with a unique outdoor environment that will die testing our designs. Our company was established in 1989 by local climbers who remain an important meeting place for other like-minded individuals. Our active think-tank ensures that we acknowledge issues surrounding design. These work include designers, material experts, patternmakers, product developers. They know exactly what is required, when, and what. Our goal is to design equipment that can immerse users in their activity, regardless of the conditions they find themselves in. This is the entire approach behind minimalism. It is the search for a simple solution for complex issues. Design philosophy. We are reducing the impact of weather and streamlining usage, both moving efficiently to create a timeless outdoor experience. Good design comes from instinct, discipline, and discoveries. It is both an art and science. Our engineering team can create tooling. In our factory we are able to test prototypes and ideas in addition to manufacturing the products. This is what drives us and our company. To create something that does not exist.
