About this business

Dance Co. provides students with excellence in dance training in an atmosphere of care and nurturing. The programs are divided thoughtfully, allowing for a great level of instruction. Dancers from all skill levels are encouraged to participate, from beginner to professional. The Vancouver Arbutus Street and Fraser floor locations feature professional hardwood floors and a costume and uniform department. Our experienced faculty brings the highest quality dance instruction. Dance Co Summer Dance Camps are an excellent opportunity for new participants and those interested in learning more about various styles of dance to explore. It is a chance for seasoned dancers to examine their artistic side and improve their technique. You will study a short choreography piece each week in the variety you have enrolled in. Families will have a memento of the performance. Parents must be aware that the time commitment and class hours are higher than forage groupings for recreational dancers and competitors. Also, you must participate in extra performances and competitions to take part in this level. All dancers in the divisions come through audition and are high-level achievers who are very motivated and committed. Training levels begin at 8 hours a week for the youngest age group and progress to 15 hours for the older age groups, who are capable of handling more content. The core programs, Intermediate Company, Senior Company, and Intensive Company, require at least three ballet lessons per week, one pointe class, choreography, and jazz classes. Tap, Acro, and Hip Hop are also offered for a well-rounded education.

We made the error of signing up our daughter for fall 2023 classes at the end of the current season. After the final recital we spoke to the instructor and we all agreed that our young dancer should be in hip hop not ballet. We changed the classes and were charged 50 dollars to change a class that won’t begin for another 3 months and a class which we had only enrolled in the week before. I called to complain and was told that this was just policy. And if we wanted to take her out of the school 3 months BEFORE any class , before any costume was designed, before any students had enrolled we’d have to pay nearly 300 dollars. Terrible policies and awful customer service.
DO NOT apply to work here. the team is shackled by the cold intolerant Marlowe Windsor. Just see how often jobs are offered. No one stays for long. It is a sweatshop, not a place to create and grow. if i could give Dance Co a zero for workplace satisfaction, I would.
