Father, husband, father, stepson, and brother. PhD, RCC, CCC, Clinical Counselor for Couple and Individual Therapy. Seeking happiness and purpose in life from the past to today? People plan on finding a better way to manage stressors in life and live life with purpose. Educational changes have made me more sensitive to the differences in culture and customs. I have a Ph.D. in Communications from McGill University. My dissertation was titled "Control, Trust, and Vulnerability in Romantic Relationships: The Impact of Communication Boundaries." I currently work part-time as a counselor for group at the Vancouver General Hospital, Outpatient Psychiatry Department, and Outpatient Psychiatry Department, and at the Adler Centre of British Columbia. My areas of expertise are communication, goal setting, and interpersonal relationships. If you need assistance with your issues, I can help. My teaching history is diverse. I have taught at the post-secondary level and written and acted as the instructor for a variety of classes, including Interpersonal Communication, Group Therapy, and other courses. I supervised undergraduate and graduate students, mentored counselling practicum students, and also taught in other faculties. I worked in the Division of Arts and Sciences, the Leadership Certificate Program, and the Albright School of Education. I also taught in the Department of Visual Studies and the Department of Social, Cultural, and Media Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley. Since 2015, I have been a supervisor of Master of Arts students in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Not only has teaching allowed me to maintain my knowledge and skills, but it has also enabled me to mentor the next generation of counselling psychotherapists. My counselling approach is holistic, individual, collaborative, supportive, non-judgmental, and empowering. My goal is to raise your awareness and comprehension of specific issues. I will also help you identify thoughts, emotions, or behaviours that are not serving your interests. I will help you uncover your strengths and provide you with the tools and tactics you need to achieve your goals and objectives. I have experience in one-on-one counselling, couples therapy, family therapy, and group psycho-educational therapy. During my free time, I volunteer for a couple of local organizations like the Columbia University Vancouver Alumni Association and the Documentary Organization of Canada. I make documentary films that are feature-length when I am not practising therapy. These films are personal portraits of individuals who use their creativity to heal and grow. They have been shown on CBC TV and received awards from various international film festivals. My partner and I enjoy spending time with our son and dog. We enjoy contributing to our local community through volunteering.
