Ballet Victoria

Ballet Victoria was founded in 2002. It is a professional boutique ballet company producing four productions a year. Our performances are funny, versatile, and theatrical dances. Our dance studios, offices, and our venue for performances are located on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish people of the WSANEC and l@kw@NG@n nations. We acknowledge and give thanks to the Coast Salish people though we do not get the official permission as they did not get any justice from us. We acknowledge the matriarchs and hereditary chiefs as well as the creatures of all sizes and shapes that have been caring for the land and the rich cultural heritage and resources. We honor our traditional hosts' hospitality and generosity towards us, and also to the artists that share their space and perform their ancestral art form here. Our creative journey extends into uncharted territories. We have created nearly 100 works, including 10 full-length ballets, performed across Canada, the USA, and Mexico. Music could be a Baroque or Rock piece, or an Opera and Folk Songs - everything inspires movement and choreography. The results are magic.
