Summary Bev Thomson, a local artist and printmaker, was born in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. An eternal learner, much of her work up until now has stemmed from her experiences living and traveling abroad around the world. In landscapes of different nations, she finds inspiration. Bev holds a Waldorf Education degree from the Steiner Centre, Toronto, and another from Laval University. She has worked as a Waldorf school class teacher and leaped for ten years as a Waldorf movement teacher. For one year, she has taught children and adults working towards their certificate the 8-year curriculum for class teachers at the Halton Waldorf School, and for another year, she has taught painting in the art department. Bev has collaborated with Newcomers and created a project called Stories with artists from many different countries and artistic backgrounds. She has taught Waldorf Teacher Training and classes for adults and children in Canada, China, Malaysia, Malay, and Thailand the past few years. She has worked with adults and children in Lesotho, near South Africa, and with adults and children in Nepal, Indonesia, and China, as well as Switzerland, Nepal, and Mali. She has studied French, German, and a little German. Also practiced and learned Nepali and a little Nepali. In all these countries, her interests include cultures, trees, stones, roads, rivers, mountains, people, animals, food, music, storytelling, and dance. Bev lived in Nepal, where she learned etchings and prints at Atelier II, the studio of Uma Shankar and Dr. Seema Shah, renowned artists in Nepal. She has studios in Victoria and Maple Bay, and she has displayed her work at Cowichan Fine Arts Show, Ground Zero Printmakers, Robert Bateman Galleries, POG, Sooke Fine Arts show, Unseen Studio Tours--Studio 553, Studio 553, and Visions on Vancouver Island.
