Victoria Academy of Ballet

Christine Richardson began Victoria Academy of Ballet in 1990 (previously Island Dance Studio). Now under Bleiddyn del Villar Bellis, FCSC-CICB's leadership, Victoria Academy of Ballet offers quality dance classes for students of all ages, ranging from 2 to professional. The VAB faculty is the best professional dance instruction and training. We are a dedicated group of highly talented and experienced teachers who are passionate about dance. Each student, regardless of age or ability, is given the best training possible. They are children who will have graduated from the Foundational Class and entered the Open Division when they turn seven. The Cecchetti Method is used, adding a specific and formalized technique as students progress to the next level. Optional add-ons are available for students who wish to expand their dance vocabulary. Any dancer who has reached Level 3 and excelled in their dance technique is permitted to enter the Youth Company by audition. A series of classes are included as the levels of the student elevate. Also, students can enroll in an extra class to study contemporary jazz, or pointe (when they have the required technical skills), however, they must still complete their ballet requirements. As the student advances in the levels, the number of classes/hours spent dancing increases. Optional dance classes
