About this business
Lee and Garth have been caring for dogs in groups since the little dog daycare center opened. Garth offers his love and care to all the dogs that come to his facility, and they respond in kind. Garth describes his central philosophy as making dogs happy. On the other hand, Lee, the center's business manager, is responsible for overseeing all its operations. The bond of both Lee and Garth is adorable. Chewie, Lee's 12-year-old Lhasa apso/mix, lives on the property, and all the dogs from Chez Wilcox stay at their house. Our obedience classes go beyond the basics of dog training. Garth and Lee, our instructors, avoid the terms "obedience" and "command" simply because they come across as negatively. The terms “command” and “order” are not only antiquated but also emphasize the human-dog hierarchy. This concept is based on old theories that recent studies have discredited, such as the concepts of dominance, hierarchy, and their methods, including punishment, coercion, and intimidation, to establish relationships of subjugation and dominance. The idea of obedience to humans appears inhumane to many people now. The concept of leadership, an approach to managing an animal and establishing a leadership hierarchy, is similarly outdated.
