Warehouse Artworks was founded by Rod Sasaki in 1979. Warehouse Artworks used to sell fine art posters at 237 McDermot (where the Free Press Cafe now is) and did custom framing. However, in the 1980s, the company moved to McDermot 222 and have been there ever since. They still sell posters but now also represent many local artists whose work has been displayed in the gallery for over 40 years. Most of the artists are Manitobans, primarily from Winnipeg. The artists use a variety of media platforms, including photography, acrylic, oil on porcelain, dyed silk, etc. Mallory Gilchuk, the website designer and event coordinator for Warehouse Artworks, says the company also offers custom framing in a blog post on their website. Customers can select from hundreds of frames, and matting comes in different colours and textures. Mallory Gilchuk states that their picture framing services make one's precious items beautiful and preserve them for many years.
