Established twenty-two years ago, the Black Sheep Gallery is located in an old fish factory and has grown to a 1200 square foot gallery by Jeddore Harbour's shore. Over 40 Nova Scotia folk artists are housed in the gallery. Also included is an ever-changing collection of Ontario and Quebec folk art. Maud Lewis is one of the Canadian artists you will find at the gallery. Also represented are Joe Norris and Everett Lewis. The gallery also features many first-class folk artists and self-taught outsiders from the United States. Examples include Howard Finster, James Harold Jennings, and Sybil Gibson, all known for their outstanding work. Others include S.L. Jones, Mary T. Smith, and David Butler. The gallery is located just under an hour east of Halifax.
