A registered clinical psychologist, I specialize in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents and their families. My doctorate was in Developmental Clinical Psychology from the University of Guelph. My private practice is not the only one I have. At Kinark Child and Family Services (the largest provider of children's mental healthcare in Ontario), I also serve as the Chief Psychologist and Clinical Director. My role as Kinark's Clinical Director and Chief Psychologist includes oversight of all child and youth mental health program clinical practices. In addition to teaching, training, and supervising clinicians, I am also responsible for the supervision of those who practice Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. All these methods are applied directly in my private practice. I use a flexible, evidence-based approach to select the best intervention for each client. Privately, I collaborate with adolescents and parents to improve mental health and functioning. Psychoeducational, i.e. learning disability and gifted, and psychodiagnostic assessments are my areas of expertise. I also provide consultation and intervention for behavioural concerns and social and emotional problems, parenting, anger management and depression. My experience includes complex mental health issues for children in hospital, forensic, and community settings. I was previously employed at SylApps Youth Centre, a safe treatment, custody, and detention facility for youth, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health within their Child, Youth, and Families Program. In addition to teaching graduate level courses at Ryerson University's Psychology Department, I also supervise multiple psychology interns and students in supervision.
