About Our Simple Alternative Funeral Centres - Mississauga Mount Pleasant Group (MPG) has a 19th-century heritage when Toronto was a small Victorian capital known as The Town of York. In earlier times, exclusively Roman Catholics and Anglicans could be buried at an "authorised" cemetery, and the rest went elsewhere. Located in 1826, Potter's Field was Toronto's first cemetery and was created with the mission to provide services to all Toronto families despite faith. Toronto has changed a lot through two centuries, but granting outstanding service to the society still remains our core focus. Our services vary from natural burial grounds to cultural and religious functions, but our objective is constant; we yearn to create a welcoming and homely setting for our customers. Our company operates ten cemeteries, nine funeral capitals, and four cremation centers across the Greater Toronto Area.
