Different types of braces are recommended for teenagers who have bite problems, alignment problems, or tooth overcrowding. Braces involve placing a bracket on each tooth and connecting them with a cross-wire that runs through a line. Specific problems can be fixed by attaching rubber bands between brackets of the upper and lower teeth. Wires, brackets, and rubber bands work in tandem to shift your teenager's teeth and jaws into the correct positions. The duration of treatment is dictated by the needs of your teen, but braces typically need to be worn for 2 to 3 years. They visit us every six to eight weeks during treatment for adjustments to ensure their progress is monitored.

I have been a client of Village Orthodontists for over 12 years. I recently had to replace wires that had been put in after my braces were taken out. I was duped into getting a retainer without any consultation with my Dentist. I have crowns and the retainers were making my gums and mouth extremely painful. I went back to Dr Gordon twice and she told me retainers did not affect my crowns and I should continue wearing them. I went back to wearing them and my gums became infected. I had to make an emergency appointment with my Dentist who discovered that the retainer had broken 2 of my crowns. He was shocked that the orthodontist did not bother to contact him before suggesting a retainer for me. I now have to replace the crowns at a cost of $4000. The Orthodontist spends a lot of time chatting away about trivial things with patients and keeps her clients waiting for over an hour. When I first went to Dr Kabfleish and Konarski, services were great but sadly that isn’t the case anymore!
