Customer feedback summary: Avoid this location if you want an honest, hassle-free moving experience. 1. SCAM ALERT! Scammer here. Middle age white guy with coke bottle glasses named Steven Smithers told me the (refundable) fee to pay cash for my rental was $150 but it was actually only $100. I didn’t check the paperwork right away and only found out when I returned it that it was less than I had paid him. Do not pay in cash!! Also took 45 minutes to get on the road. Their check-in needed to be done via text, but their text system was down while I was there. Save yourself the hassle and just do everything through the app. I filed an official complaint and got a credit back for the amount I was scammed and a very unprofessional apology email from the employee. I wish they would have fired him instead of making him send an email but I think he’s the owner of the location. Be careful!!2. Scammer locationHad the misfortune of renting 2 trucks in a two week span. First time. the first truck was empty of gas and they tried to say it had 1/8. it was literally on 0 - photo included. second time the check engine light came on after ten mins of my rental. so I get to drive all the way back to maybe get another truck if it's available. Looking for alternatives at this point. unreliable.3. Good customer service and refundI did not receive an email/message instructions on how to self-return the truck and had to figure it out on my own. I figured it out and the self-return was pretty smooth and straight forward. I received a refund for extra miles that I already paid for after self-return. The overall experience was good.4. Great staff and securityStaff was incredibly helpful and courteous, I had never used U-Haul before so was very unaware of the process but the staff walked me through whatever I needed to know with a great attitude. Never was made to feel bad for asking a silly question kind of people. Felt safe going alone later at night, super staff and a security company are always on-duty.5. Excellent ExperienceI had a great experience with U-Haul Moving & Storage of Britannia! The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and quick—everything from check-in to drop-off was smooth. The van I rented was fairly new and in great condition, and the rental fares seemed very fair for the time I used it. The only downside is the limited parking at the back of the building, which is shared with the rental fleet—so if you're arriving in your own car, it might be a bit tricky to find a spot. I'd recommend arriving by other means if possible. Overall, solid service and definitely a location I would use again.
