She is also an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Strategic Human Resource Management at the University of Guelph's Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. Dr. Mann was the Lang School's Associate Dean (Academic) before her current position as Dean. A tenure-track instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University's School of Business and Economics, she has previously served as a faculty member at the University of Waterloo and a research consultant at the National Quality Institute. Dr. Mann is a domain expert in employment, with a specialization in selection and compensation. Her research has been published in several journals, including the International Review of Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management Review. The Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies has also published her research. Past and present research sponsors include the University of Guelph's Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs. Two industry grants and fellowships from Wilfrid Laurier University also fund her work. Dr. Mann has led executive training seminars for dozens of organizations, including the Waterloo Regional Police and the Toronto Police Service, focusing on best practices in employee selection. Her latest project directly applies mainstream management theories to the professional practice of human resource management in the under-studied context of rural Ontario's Agri-Food industry, using Workplace and Employee survey data from Statistics Canada.
