I bought a house during the price fluctuations and mortgage issues in winter 2022-23, and the solicitor recommended by the estate agent sent a very high quote, got the address wrong, and kept sending robotised emails asking me to use them. But Kevin at Keypoint mortgages recommended Metcalfe David Eyres and I'm SO glad I went with his suggestion! I don't know the area or firms – but from a quote £600 less than the estate agent's recommended firm, to the swift email and phone calls, the absolutely spot-on timescales and communication (regular weekly updates), to the wonderful, friendly and relaxed attitude during calls – I really couldn't be happier with the work that Rachel and Laura in Chesterfield do for their clients such as myself. Despite a couple of small extra bits to deal with on the conveyancing and a worrying delay when one mortgage firm pulled their products, Metcalfe David Eyres' solicitors kept things calm and efficient – and the bill at the end was the quote at the start, absolutely incredible value when you consider how much you pay for even routine car maintenance per hour these days. Genuinely good firm, genuinely good people, and they will give you as much confidence as it's possible to have when buying a house. I cannot recommend them enough and am personally grateful for Rachel and Laura's attitude and help throughout the process.
