The Flinn Foundation is a privately endowed grantmaking foundation founded in 1965 by Robert S. Flinn and Irene P. Flinn. The Flinn Foundation exists to improve the quality of life of Arizonans and promote future generations. The mission of the Flinn Foundation is to advance Arizona’s bioscience industry, provide quality educational opportunities for Arizona’s high-achieving students, enhance the artistic and fiscal capacity of Arizona’s arts and cultural organizations, and build the abilities of future civic leaders. Nonprofit organizations may apply for grants supporting the arts, culture, and biosciences, as well as Flinn Scholars. The goal intersects with organizational mission where there are opportunities to embrace ecosystem thinking to amplify. The foundation, with the Thomas R. Brown Foundation and Tucson, promotes civic leadership by funding and overseeing the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership and the Flinn-Brown Fellowship.
