About this business
Lola Coffee, a local coffee company, started in a modest way. In 1992, Daniel Wayne went in search of the best Espresso. He was the owner/operator of Lola Coffee. The story began with a 6-foot espresso cart on the sidewalk in front of Hub Building. At that time, the coffee scene/popularity was new and rising. Phoenix Symphony Hall needed an espresso vendor. After almost a year of eating bean burritos ($0.59 then) and living on those beans, Daniel Wayne, a local barista from Lola Coffee, Damian Serafine, and Symphony hall landed the contract. This contract was a windfall, and in the ensuing years, one location became several. Phoenix needed brick-and-mortar independent coffee shops to bring together communities in 2000. Daniel was driving along central avenue when he saw a sign for rent in an old pink dilapidated building. A local property owner was sitting in the dark with candles burning and wearing a jumpsuit. He was literally praying that someone would lease this building. Daniel asked: What do you see in this space? Sloan replied, "I see Coffee and Art." He then asks: What do you do, Daniel? Daniel says... Art and coffee. Handshakes were used to seal a deal within 30 minutes. This shop is today known as Lux Coffee.
Reviews Summary
The neighborhood coffee shop is consistently excellent, receiving praise for its ambient atmosphere, as well as their variety of beverages and reasonable prices. Regulars have several favorite drinks and snack options, and the cafe is equally popular with working professionals and students.During my last visit, I had one of the most potent lattes ever. I only had to add a touch of sugar to get everything to my liking because the espresso was outstanding. Some customers recommend the cold drinks, while others suggest the pastries, which are unfailingly fresh and delicious. Choose from several milk options and create a drink that suits you. When the numerous places to relax inside fill up, take a seat on the back patio. This place is a gem for anyone visiting the area and a regular stop for locals.
