At the time, Public Radio International received a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The grant aimed to establish the Public Radio Underwriting Partnership, which would set standards and apply for corporate support from commercial radio broadcasters to the public radio. Jim Taszarek Sr. participated in the creation of the Public Radio Underwriting Partnership. He is a seasoned broadcaster. From 1997 to 1999, ‘Taz visited 10 stations and met dozens of personnel. After engaging in detailed research, he provided his perspective and set industry benchmarks.
