Shamus O Leary Tropicals was born out of hobby to an entrepreneur and passion for gardening. My hobby was to buy fruit trees, and as a result, I accidentally joined the tropical fruit tree business ten years ago. Without adequate knowledge on how to care for them, it was clear that they needed help, and I played a role in that. There was not enough knowledge and experience in preserving non-native trees over an extended period. My vision was to open a nursery that not only sold unique fruit trees but also provided information on how to nurture them in this environment. With this, Shamus O’Leary's Tropical Fruit Trees was formed. Combining my entrepreneurial drive and gardening passion, I discovered that I could also make money through it. To achieve this, I needed to compile a list with plants that will and won't grow in southern Arizona. This was a challenge, but with the help of local successful gardeners, it became easier. My research combined with theirs, and we were able to grow nearly any plant successfully. #PhxFoodForest

Last year when the new year started as I added 20+ fruit trees to my backyard for the first time. almost all of the plants survived. The current crop survived meadow will have the mango tree that I neglected. I had a couple visits to the nursery before all my trees were gathered and they just blew my mind with their array of plants. The gardens supervisors discussed the kinds of trees that would grow well in my backyard. The shelves were overstocked and I just made a marketing selection mistake because I could not resist a number of Plant decisions before I left Many customers like to be present at the store for their trees because there are plant varieties they would want to purchase when looking at them in real time. This is why they keep coming back. Very many varieties of fruit trees and how they care for them are shared with the customers. The trees in the nursery are already mature and arranged just the way they should be planted. Shopping here is so easy, and there is help whenever you want, and questions are regularly asked. This is why many customers prefer it to going to other nurseries. The space is ordered and looks like a wonderful park. Both the team and Shamus at the nursery are woderfull. I had a personal interaction with one customer who was well informed by the staff and needed help making a decision. He settled on Pluot and planted it at home, and he was very happy about this. He will definitely come back again for another. This is because the right trees have been recommended for him, and he has seen that these trees he has are growing well. The owner is seen as the best team leader at the nursery because he does everything that the employees do, and the only difference here is the management. But, this is hardly noticeable. In fact, I found myself asking a wrong person a question because Shamus helps in the nursery just the same way as the other workers.
