She worked as an Equal Justice Fellow for the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, Inc., and she designed and taught courses on pro se representation to immigration detainees in the Eloy Center. Mejia received her JD from Boston College Law School and her BA from Columbia University. She is also an active member of the National Immigration Project.
