The Origin of Summit Hut Summit Hut was established in a humble manner. Jeff Conn and David Baker, Summit Hut, Ltd. President, sometimes cooperated as students. They initiated a special order program for the citizens of Tucson who need mountaineering or backpacking equipment. The two students were running the firm from their bedrooms, and their stock was stored under their beds. At the end of his senior year in high school, David acquired Jeff's share in 1968. David rented space in a shop adjacent to a bike store on the other side of the street, filling 150 sq. ft. In February 2011, Dave Davis sold the company to Dana Davis and Jeremy, her husband. Dana, who started working at Summit Hut in 1998, played a part in its growth. Since 2006, she has held various roles at Summit Hut, including Store Manager, Retail Director, and Product buyer. Summit Hut, Ltd., is a Tucson, Arizona-based company that has been offering quality outdoor gear and services to the community for the past 40 years. We aim to provide the highest quality gear and services needed for any outdoor activity, including backpacking, mountaineering, and climbing.
