Kohn Gallery

Kohn Gallery was established in 1985 by Michael Kohn, who was the ex-college editor of Flash Art. It presents historic and contemporary art exhibitions, offering this important context and connecting to the greater art history continuum. The December 1986 Andy Warhol show of Campbell’s Soup Boxes was transformative. She: Richard Prince, and Wallace Berman fused two generations of top artists from their respective coasts. Bruce Conner: His 1970s work inspired his inaugural solo retrospective in Europe at Kunsthalle Wien in 2010. Richard Tuttle and Kenny Scharf's new work, Mark Tansey, Kenny Scharf, Keith Haring, and Christopher Wool were among the new works by major New York-based artists. Kohn Gallery showcases essential West Coast artists such as Larry Bell and Joe Goode, as well as the estates of Bruce Conner and Wallace Berman, and Charles Brittin. Kohn Gallery also exhibits a range of midcareer and emerging artists, including Rosa Loy and Simmons & Burke, Mark Ryden, and Eddie Martinez.
