SLATE Contemporary Gallery and Art Consulting

SLATE Art Consulting, our sister company, aims to provide opportunities for people to think and be more creative by living and working with art; to express personal taste and values. More than simply creating art collections, we create experiences. We create experiences by collaborating with our clients to express their values and objectives. The SLATE Contemporary retail gallery, showroom, and exhibition space located in Oakland, CA hosts six shows each year featuring the 40 artists on our slate. Our gallery focus's on abstract photography and painting with the occasional landscape and nature-based art, and mixed media sculpture. Our gallery curators work closely with collectors to research and create bespoke proposals. Communication begins digitally and progresses to a private viewing at the gallery, where the collector sees a selection of works. Eventually, the artwork is delivered to their house for a final viewing and approval prior to installation. Additionally, SLATE contemporary works with other art consultants, galleries, and interior designers to help them source artwork for private collectors.
