In 2009, Columbia College-San Diego was founded. This venue provides high-speed internet access to quality faculty, academic advisors, and library resources. Through its eight-week courses and degree options, the venue offers working adults a unique learning opportunity. The college has a strong online program and an extensive network that makes it easy for civilians as well military students to access its courses. Columbia College San Diego offers students the chance to choose between online and in-seat classes. The in-seat classes can be taken on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday classes. Some Saturday classes may also be offered. In-seat classes are taught in a mix of Monday-Wednesday, Tuesday-Thursday, and some Saturday classes. This vision is to create a high-quality institution that offers higher education and is committed to excellence in its nontraditional and traditional programs.

We offer 20 Bachelor's and 20 Master's degree programs in eight departments, as well as 8 doctoral and 10 professional certificates programs. The following departments have over 260 faculty/tenure-track lecturers and scientists: Astronomy and Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Computer Science. The College of Sciences provided scholarships totaling more than $700,000. It also employed 825 students last year as work-study assistants and teaching associates. Research centers that provide field experiences enhance our curriculum. Our faculty also have active research programs which offer hands-on training. These programs are designed to prepare our students for work after graduation.

The citizens of Central Texas voted to build a community college in 1965. It would be used by the Bell County, Burnet, Coryell and Hamilton counties. Built on 5,60 acres of land that Fort Hood donated through the Department of Education, and funded by a $2 million local bond issue. Central Texas College was established under Section 130.04 (Texas Education Code) in 1967 with an initial enrollment total of 2,068 students. Since then, both the number and location of courses have increased steadily. Central Texas College (CTC) has maintained its institutional accreditation status with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges since first being awarded accreditation in 1969, and was reaffirmed most recently in June 2015.Central Texas College provides accessible and quality educational opportunities that support a diverse student population and promotes student success, completion and employability.Central Texas College serves our diverse global community through engaging and innovative education.
