SDSU College of Sciences

College of Sciences was founded in 1931 and is now the dominant educational and research organization in the area. The university offers twenty Bachelor's and Master's programs sponsored by eight science departments. We had eight programs leading to a doctorate and another ten professional certificate programs. Three of our departments, Astronomy and Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Computer Science, have 260 faculty/tenure-track lecturers and research scientists. The College of Sciences gives students more than 700 scholarships each year, a total value of over $700,000. Work-study assistants and teaching associates were also hired, adding up to 825 students last year. Our curriculum includes field experiences in research centers that enhance it. Our faculty's continuous research into various areas offers them the experience and training needed to work after graduation.
