About this business
Associated Barber College was established by Dominick Nenna. The Director and current owner, Joseph J. Roccoforte, attended Associated Barber College in 1960, and in 1972 he bought Downtown LA Barber College and managed his Los Angeles campus until 1989. In 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Roccoforte bought Associated Barber College. They are both professionals in the barbershop industry, and there are many barbers in their family, including uncles, fathers, brothers, and sons. Their passion for educating future generations in the industry has made the College one of the best learning institutions in San Diego (San Diego, City of). The current curriculum includes traditional barbering practices and philosophy. Associated Barber College has a Cosmetology Program, which was approved by the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology in 2022. This will complement the Barber program. This will give students the opportunity to learn the skills of Barbering and Cosmetology, and gain knowledge and experience in the industry at the Associated Barber College of San Diego.

Our Mission:
The Associated Barber College of San Diego teaches men and women the old style of barbering. The college provides students with the foundation they need to pass the California State Barber Exam, which is necessary to get barber jobs in California. Our curriculum preserves the traditional techniques and methods passed on from the time the school was founded in 1927.
