Government Training Agency

The Southern California Intergovernmental Training and Development Center operates as the Government Training Agency/Regional Training Center (GTA/RTC) and is commonly known as the San Diego Regional Training Center. GTA/RTC was formed in 1972 in collaboration with 13 incorporated cities and County of San Diego but currently operates as a governmental agency. Its agency members are all 18 cities in the County of San Diego as well as the County of San Diego. The main goal of GTA/RTC is to offer high-quality training and organizational development services for public agencies at low costs. The parties are also helped in developing and implementing training programs for their employees. The company is self-supporting, and it generates income from grants and payments from participants. The Center’s mission is to support public agencies in California and their staffs. We also work to improve their staff training and develop ways to improve their performance. The policy of GTA/RTC is to improve the essential skills of public servants and give them the motivation to be positive, transformative, and essential in their workplaces and communities. Our services are also intended to bring leadership and coordination to ensure that all participating agencies in the GTA/RTC process retain the ability and resources to use their available talents and resources to develop training programs that best meet their needs.
