Shayda graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. Shayda chose to attend UCSD for her graduate studies, where she received her Masters and Ph.D. in Bioengineering. Shayda has 15 years of experience teaching science and mathematics to college, high school, and middle school students; she has a passion for teaching. She has taught Introduction to Bioengineering and Human Physiology undergraduate courses at UCSD. Shayda founded Pivot Tutors in 2012, but before that, she developed an ACT bootcamp for a private school in San Diego and taught SAT and ACT classes at various test preparation centers. Pivot Tutors, LLC has been tutoring middle and high school students in San Diego for the past 8 years. Over 1000 students have sought tutoring help to improve their grades and scores on standardized tests.
