About this business
San Diego Gymnastics opened its first Liberty Station location in the year 2008. At the time, Doug Grady and Christina Grady held full-time jobs while juggling their children's activities. Their children participated in many sports including soccer, baseball, dance, and gymnastics. The Grady's soon learned that Point Loma needed gymnastics. Christina was born in East County and grew up doing gymnastics and other sports. She was a natural athlete and excelled at basketball, eventually earning a scholarship to the University of California Irvine. On the other hand, Doug grew up surfing the San Diego coast in Point Loma. He left Southern California to earn his degree in Entrepreneurship. His experience combined with his understanding of Point Loma's gymnastics needs gave rise to San Diego Gymnastics. SDG made history and grew with immense thanks to the Peninsula area (San Diego Gymnastics, n.d.). The Gradys also opened an SDG location in Eastlake. They initially made their home in Eastlake at the start of their life together. They opened SDG at the Otay Ranch Town Center because they recognized that gymnastics could benefit the Eastlake community. SDG in Otay Ranch was able to grow and thrive once again since the East Lake community backed them up (San Diego Gymnastics, n.d.).
