Reliable About Us Brad Hylton established Spirit Yoga in 2012. Brad had a vision for a yoga studio that took donations, and he made it happen. The community grew slowly. It turned out that yoga purely based on donations wasn’t helping our teachers thrive within a few years. Our practice was able to make a living wage our responsibility as studio founders. Our goal was to make our teachers’ pay competitive while still making classes available to everyone. Since then, Spirit Yoga has evolved a lot. Trace Short purchased Spirit Yoga with his spouse Dana on March 1, 2020, and was enthusiastic about the sense of community it offered. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio closed down sixteen days later. We teamed up with our incredible teachers to create high-quality virtual classes. The studio closed again during the second year of ownership. The spring brought us encouragement as we gradually return to our old selves. We think Pacific Beach has some of the best yoga teachers available at a fair cost. We wouldn't be here every day without yoga. With an ever-increasing membership every year, we are excited.
