By injecting hyaluronic acid into the dermal plane, Juvederm replenishes the depleted levels of hyaluronic acid just below the skin's surface, repairing volume and smoothness. Once hyaluronic acid is injected into the dermal layers, it binds to water molecules. This gives the skin a fuller look. Juvederm can be used to treat many types of wrinkles and lines. However, it is most commonly used in smile lines and marionette lines. Our office is equipped to provide Juvederm injections. The physician will use a thin needle for the procedure and will prepare the skin. The process takes just a few minutes, and you will typically be able to go back to work straight after. Hyaluronic acid with lidocaine is used for the process, which decreases discomfort and numbs the skin.
