Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose State University—one of the nation's most dynamic regions for startups and innovative technologies, has been meeting the needs of this community for over 160 years. Davidson College of Engineering at San Jose State University came into being in 1946, offering hands-on programs that sustained growth and innovation during the construction, food processing, and manufacturing boom. This busy college community is home to nearly 400 faculty members and over 700 staff, who support more than 7,000 students from diverse experience and educational backgrounds. They continue to focus on building design for sustainable cities and moving transportation forward, as well as driving science and technology research, engineering elite medications, and developing brain-controlled drones. All engineering students at the Davidson College of Engineering are trained to work with a team and be socially responsible and culturally sensitive. More of our college students have succeeded in Silicon Valley organizations than in other colleges and universities combined.
