The SJSU Connie L. Lurie College of Education transforms lives through emancipatory approaches to teaching, learning, scholarship, and service. We prepare transformative teachers, counselors and therapists, and school leaders through an emancipatory approach to teaching, scholarship, and service. We focus on four thematic areas where we can effect change: (a) community-engaged, community-centered, and community-accountable; (b) culturally sustainable; (c) holistic, supportive, and caring; and (d) interdisciplinary, transformative, and community-driven.
