Foundations Psychological Services company provides individualized services like flexible scheduling and assessments that can stretch through several days or weeks. The process is thorough, producing detailed findings and recommendations to assist the client in understanding and overcoming their challenges. The initial step in the evaluation process is a clinical interview. This developmental interview enables the clinician to get a comprehensive history of the client's developmental, medical, academic, social, and psychological history. After the developmental interview, the clinician will administer one or more educational and/or psychological assessment measures. Dr. Schilling and Dr. Hess may believe the client, particularly a child, would benefit from more than one session to be most successful. Indeed, for most clients, an evaluation requires more than one session, but one can go through the whole assessment in one sitting. These individual differences might cause a clinician to extend the assessment or request follow-up interviews or testing sessions. Dr. Schilling and Dr. Hess may think that more accurate information can be obtained in an environment where the client can be seen in-person. In the above cases, Dr. Schilling may discuss with the parents about coming to their home to assess the client or visiting the school.
