After producing documents with minimal work for a substantial fee, on a call to discuss, he said his work was a courtesy and non-negotiable, and if I wanted to leave gifts conditionally, his documents couldn’t do the work and I should create other accounts (i.e., he wouldn’t add effort to find a solution). When I expressed unhappiness, he said he’d refund half of it (for documents that don’t help me much) and I can come to his office to collect my originals. We didn’t have a contract, so he couldn’t charge me more than a fair hourly rate for a little work done. Additionally he completely lied to me about the contract fee. He should have asked for only a fair hourly rate. Instead, he wanted half of what we had agreed upon. Watch out. Get it in writing if you’re going to deal with Mr. Michaels.4. My mom had used this attorney for several years so when she passed we hired him to help with the probate of the estate, and he and his staff handled everything with kindness and knowledge. Highly recommend!5. Getting your estate planned can be a massive undertaking. Mr. Michaels met with us and made the process seamless. We went over everything we had and then had him prepare the documents. Once he gave them to us we met again to go over everything and signed the papers. Thank you for making it easier.
