Achilles Art Cafe (Hiawassee) began on August 8, 2008. Achilles (or "Ash" if you prefer) grew up in Hamburg, Germany. He came to the United States with only $30 in his pocket in 1999. He aspired to own his café, and that dream has come true. He chose to establish this with its proximity to his home in MetroWest. Ash still bikes to the café every day. You can see that he has put his heart into this place. Most of the artwork displayed on our eclectic, lovely European ambience is for sale. It's not a commission; Ash has just always loved art! We strive for every customer to have a delightful journey, starting with the atmosphere and art, through our coffee and sandwiches, to our selection of good beer.
