The Central Florida Ballet was established in 2000 by Heather Fryxell Sanders, also known as “Orlando’s ballerina,” and Vasile Petrutiu, a world-renowned director and dancer. In 2000, Mr. Petrutiu came to Orlando to be the director of the then-Southern Ballet Theatre (Orlando Ballet today), and Ms. Sander-Fryxell was the principal dancer. They both had similar artistic goals and dreams, which led them to establish their dance company, Ballet Academy of Central Florida. The company performed its first production, “Tutus, Tango, and More,” in 2001, which was sold out. The Informances program, which began in Orange County schools, has given regular ballet lessons to thousands of Central Florida children. Later in 2000, Central Florida Ballet presented the Nutcracker, the most successful show in the area since its inception. The production is choreographed by Mr. Petrutiu, and its quality has been a hallmark of the American Nutcracker, according to CNN Headline News, USA Today, and others. In 2003, the Children’s Ballet Series opened with a sold-out evening. In subsequent years, the Classic Ballet Series added ways to celebrate with new shows like The Fairy Doll or The Ugly Duckling.

Reviews of Central Florida Ballet are generally positive, praising its training and discipline. Some students have gone on to professional dance careers or become university athletes, pointing to the school's success. Critics have been silenced by the trolls following the teachers' initial anonymity request. The comments highlight the passion and skill of the educators, as well as the nurturing environment. However, strictness is essential for preparing pupils for advanced coursework or important roles. Moreover, parents also notice the progress in their sons and daughters. One of the best ballet schools, according to a review writer. And it notices the technical and interpersonal skills developed by students.
