Delaney Park Health and Rehabilitation Center

They only have semi-private rooms. there are 2 residents in each roo. if you are in the back, you are doomed. They take at least 2 hours to respond if you press a button for anything. (that's only if you are lucky) I also need to report serious concerns about the physical therapy and basic hygiene support I am receiving at the facility. Without consistent physical therapy, I am concerned about how I can improve or regain even some level of function. I am being kept in bed much of the time, and the facility does not appear to have the equipment I need to safely get up or sit up. Hygiene is also a significant concern. Since arriving here on 9/6, I have only been assisted with brushing my teeth twice. I am not being taken to the bathroom to brush my teeth, nor am I consistently provided with the supplies and assistance needed to do so from bed. I also have not had a shower since I arrived. I have received a few sponge baths. On two occasions, I was asked about taking a shower while I was eating lunch. I asked if it could be done about 30 minutes later, after I finished eating, but I was told that was not possible. There does not appear to be a therapy or shower schedule communicated in advance, which makes it very difficult to understand how my care is being organized or to plan for these basic needs. Most of the staff is rude and only helps you if they want to or like to. You can sit in your urine or poop for hours (if you cannot use the toilet) and they care much less. Food is another issue. I eat more vegetables, halal meat but they cannot even accommodate me with a good salad, On most days, if I am lucky, I get a salad for lunch. My family has to bring me food twice a day. They dont care if you have speacial needs such as I requested all female staff for me due to religious reasons, but this one CNA kept bringing a male to help me with hoyer lift. When I requested to please get female help, she walked out on me letting me sit in my urine which i was waiting for hour and half already. This place treat its residents with no respect and dignity.
