Owner, born and raised in Maspeth, New York Moved to Florida in 1988 Gymnastics interest developed when she was eight years old after watching Olga Korbut perform in the 1972 Olympics Played gymnastics at Grover Cleveland High School and became part of the team for four years Team captain in senior and junior years Won "Most Valuable Player" during the senior year Qualified for both New York City Championships Vault in senior and junior years Gymnastics Camp coaches voted her "Most Dedicated" Teaching/coaching began at age 14 for Maspeth Town Hall program After graduating, she was a coach at Grover Cleveland Coaching career continued at Martin County YMCA gymnastics when she moved to Florida Debbie had the privilege of being mentored by Stefan Bogdan (ex-National Team Coach for Romania, West Germany, and National Head Coach) Experience with coaching gymnastics helped develop the coaching/teaching philosophy.
