A few weeks ago, a sewer gas smell appeared in my downstairs bathroom. We tried everything, but it wouldn't go away. We first called Plumber #1, who said that the wax ring in the toilet was bad and needed a reset, we paid $350 but a few days later, the smell was back. Later we called Plumber #2, who said the shower P-trap was dry because we don’t use the shower often, and that we should start using the shower every day ($175#. That didn't work. We then called Plumber #3, who said the vent stack might be clogged and was not able to clear it because he could not access our roof as we have a two-story house and we needed to call someone else. It was unbearable—constant headaches, never knowing when the odor would hit, and embarrassment so I didn't invite people over, frustrated. I called the company, they came the next day. The service man climbed the roof and checked the roof vent, it was fine, and then checked the pressure/air admittance valve, a faulty one was found under the sink. The smell went away. They volunteered to replace the five other in the house, and the smell never came back. No one can imagine how relieved I am. Mahjong night is back to normal! Thank you for fixing this.
