After researching, reading multiple reviews and meeting with 3 divorce attorneys, I hired a female lawyer thinking she would be most understanding on my simplified uncontested dissolution with NO children. WRONG. She neglected my case after the first three months, dragged it out for 6 months(mind you I’m paying her $350/hour). I would write emails to her and her paralegal asking for any updates, with no response’s. Unless I called to schedule an in person conference, I would be lingering with no answers. Not to mention no showed my court hearing without communicating to me that “her partner” that I’ve never even heard of would be filling in. After 6 months of stress and fatigue, my ex husband and I teamed up, got everything in our case filed minus a few small things. One of the documents missing was the final judgment, which you must have for the final sign off by the judge and has to be drawn up by your attorney. Out of exhaustion, I decided to find a new lawyer to wrap things up, but who wants to take on a case at the end for one document, can’t blame them!
