About this business
Customer feedback summary: 1. Copay is taken care of quick. Need to check if it is required in advance sometimes 2. Today I went in are my first surgery ever. I had all my wisdom teeth removed, I was calm after reading up on the work of Dr.Abtin and he definitely lives up to it! Between the nurses who ensured my comfortabllity- NURSE JAMIE, Lori and Shauna(or Shawna I'm not sure)the experience was honestly the best I could expect.Especially Ms. Jamie answering my questions and keeping me informed throughout the entire process she was an angel! THEY were an amazing team and it went so smoothly, I have little to no swelling nor pain!3. Dr Cumbatch and his staff was professional and attentive. My dental work was done quickly and rendered a temporary solution.
I will return on 8/24 for permanent work.
Dr. Cumbatch explained everything throughly before the procedure was done.4. Unorganized staff. I scheduled an appointment months ago, the link to provide insurance wouldn’t pull up my profile. I called in manually (like things should be done) provided my information. Then the next day(before my appointment)I’m receiving back to back calls saying I need to provide additional information to verify my insurance. I called in again and give the information. Then the next day (what was my appointment day), mind you a day I schedule to go in late to work they call me 15 minutes before my appointment as I’m riding to the office and say they couldn’t verify my insurance because the insurance rep went home early the day prior and I had to wait until 930. If this wasn’t a sign that this isn’t the place for me I do not know what was. I canceled my appointment and my son’s upcoming appointment. The rep acted like she didn’t care and I’m glad she did. Because I NEVER experienced anything like this from a dentist office. Only reason why I booked with them is because my original dentist is out of network now. Disgusting! Imagine what kind of service the back office may provide!5. You should review the patient medical history before you charge them, before you take an Xray, before you have them in the dental chair, and then turn them away because you need a medical release. I won't be back and have informed my insurance provider they are going to be billed, like I was, for services never rendered. Extremely unprofessional of you.6. Very modern technology and easy registration and check in process.7. I want to give a shout out to Dr. Johnson. She has been amazing at all of my visits. She is kind and thoughtful to make sure I have a good experience and that truly means a lot. I tend to have anxiety from some bad dental experiences as a child and I could not choose a better dentist than Dr. Johnson. I also appreciate her team, Ali, Markell, and Ruthie who have been very attentive. Yoshua at the front desk … he always makes me feel like family. And Pam and Kiara in Billing are just as nice. I could not ask for a better group. Thank you!8. Great Service9. It was wonderful the doctor was absolutely wonderful and the staff10. Had a root canal procedure done along with a crown three years ago. Crown started lifting and now my son has a cavity that needs extraction. Crown should last approximately 10 years. Have asked numerous of times for call back by mgmt to discuss cost sharing as now, he will need an implant. I now question the quality of work that was done as it relates to the crown, and poor customer service as no one has called me (his mother) back.11. I’ve been going there since I was a teenager! However, recently there was this Rude, Disrespectful, Disgusting dentist she snapped at me and mother when we were asking her about the price of a procedure I needed for my teeth. She even when as far as describing my teeth she was condescending, belittling, degrading, and was bullying me. I don’t really remember her name bc she wasn’t getting near my teeth I called and complained and I said I wanted an apology and the lady on the phone he told me that she couldn’t apologize for bullying a loyal patient and told me I don’t have use her anymore! However, I don’t want anyone to use this lady to describe her she’s a dark skin short lady I don’t remember her name but I wanted to describe her for you! DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!12. Amazing time while getting my yearly exam, the stuff was amazing!13. Dr Colbert and Cindy did a outstanding job with my care. Front desk staff was very accommodating during the check in process.14. Markel assisted the Dr by ensuring She had all the tools needed for my care..Markel is very knowledgeable and always does an excellent job. Keep up the good work!
R. Selden15. It honestly hurts me to write this review. I was so geeked to find a black endodontist and majority black dental facility. I chose to go here for a root canal.
TLDR: Stay away! You will not be treated with care by Dr. Watson or Neshawn.
I have had a root canal before, and this was a far worse experience. After my consult, but prior to my appointment, I asked for a doctor's excuse for the day of and the day after. I was informed that I would be given one on the day of the appointment. I requested to get it in advance because my employer prefers that employees request time off in advance and with proof for multiple days off. They did send me the excuse after I insisted.
I received no prep information or materials. On the day of my procedure, I received several documents explaining the procedure and possible outcomes. I asked why this is not provided prior to the procedure. The billing rep did not know and said I could consult with the doctor when I am sent back.
Upon going back, I was treated by Neshawn and Dr. Watson. Both of which NEVER asked me how I was doing or looked me in the eyes before, during or after the appointment. The root canal took about one hour. At no point, did either of them check on me to see how I was doing or inform me of the progress or success of the procedure. They talked about their personal lives amongst themselves while Dr. Watson performed the procedure. There was a point where I was visibly crying and no one acknowledged it or even bothered to get me a tissue. I was crying because they kept mushing my upper lip up against my teeth to the point of cutting my lip.
They would quickly run through the script of things they have to mention with a robotic tone and auctioneer cadence.
When Dr. Watson completed the procedure, she immediately disappeared. She didn’t mention how it went, check in on me, nothing. I was given a paper prescription for a pain reliever. It would have been more convenient if they would’ve called it in, so that I could have picked it up from my pharmacy prior to the numbing wearing off. Lastly, Neshawn removed my bib, rubber dam, utensils, etc and walked me to the exit door. At no point was I shown the work or provided a mirror. Thank goodness I stopped by the restroom before leaving, in the mirror I discovered that I had white gunk all over my cheek and lips.
I am extremely disappointed by the lack of bedside manners and patient rapport. I truly hope that other patients of this facility and Dr. Watson receive proper treatment and care.
