About this business

Client Review Compilation: 1. I'm such a cat lover and this place is so many cats it’s literally paradise. I love it, I'm in heaven. Smitten Kitten is the best cat store. 2. POOR care. They cut my cat about 5 times and claimed it was because she had skin tags. Poor girl was bleeding and her tail was all cut up when I got her back :( but that's not even the worst part!! She ended up with Ringworm from being groomed there and she is a house cat who never goes outside the home or is around any other pets. This is the worst place and I will not go back, they deserve to be held responsible for her care as well as the vet bills associated with having to get treatment for the ringworm that she wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. I am only putting this out there so it doesn't happen to another animal because their facility is NOT clean. Be aware taking your pet here! Not recommended especially the pricing I had to pay and now we have even more expenses on top of it all and they should be held responsible. 3. I tried to bring my senior cat here three times to be groomed and they called me within five minutes each time to come back and pick her up. I had explained to them that she is very vocal, but hasn’t hurt or scratched anyone and gave her prescribed gabapentin. I also asked them to make it so she couldn’t see other cats. I don’t understand why they couldn't give her more time to get used to being there because they told me she hadn't bitten or scratched anyone. I understood the noise from the cats can be overwhelming, but I do not know why they couldn;t give her more time to decompress or why they gave up trying to groom her rather quickly. - Grooming is done alone. But anyways, I took her to Sweet Whiskers in Ames and they did wonderfully grooming and working with her. I suspect it’s because it’s one cat at a time vs this place was pretty loud with several cats at a time. 4. Good prices! 5. Amazing selection, nice workers. 6. Cat care items, grooming, and adoptable cats. Love this place. 7. My cat got her nails trimmed and got claw caps put on for the first time here, and it was a wonderful experience. It was much cheaper than anticipated, about $20 for front paws only and $25 for front and back. The groomer did a great job! I didn't hear any protesting from my cat throughout the experience and it was very quick! It only took about ten minutes, and I spent that time looking for gourmet cat treats! 8. The groomer did a wonderful job with my kitty, I couldn't hear any sort of protesting from my cat throughout the experience. It was also surprisingly quick! It only took about ten minutes, and I spent that time browsing for gourmet cat treats! 9. I've been going to this place for a few years now and each visit I can just see that my cat's services were performed by people who care. They always do a great job and I'm always impressed by the results. 10. Super cute little cat store. Brought kids for treats and toys. They had cats all around and so many up for adoption. It was so neat! Tequila would have come home with us if we didn't already have 5. 11. Super cute little cat store. Brought kids for treats and toys. They do amazing work and they're the only place I would ever take my cat. Also if you ever have questions you can ask him. They don't judge and they help. 13. I've been going to Ingersoll Smitten Kitten for a while now to get my cat nail caps. Had an appointment today for nail caps. Receptionist pretty much ignored me and still did after the groomer came out. She was very short and not very friendly. Groomer came out and asked if I’d given my cat a sedative. I said no. Granted, I probably should have but I forgot. She said she’d try but a minute later she came out and said “he won’t let me do it!” Drove all the way down there for nothing. If I would have known that was a requirement I would have given him one! It was the groomers attitude that made me mad. No hello, no conversation, no smile, and very unprofessional. It was the same with the receptionist. 14. Thanks for the great service would recommend them to any of my friends. 15. I've been using Smitten Kitten for 2 years now, and the last time was in May 2025 my cat was injured by the groomer and I had to take her to the vet to get treated for dermatitis. I contacted the groomer who apologized and said to get a refund I requested $100 for my cat being hurt by their care. The manager called me and I explained this to them they again apologized and said to go get a refund. I went to the store and asked for the refund. The cashier said she would give it to me at the register. So I went back out to my car and patiently waited for the cashier to call me back in so I walked back in and the cashier called the groomer who talked with me briefly then she said she would have to give me my $100 refund back. The manager came out and talked with the groomer then they proceeded to call my vet's office and get medical records on my cat which is ILLEGAL without my permission. I asked to talk to the manager and she refused the refund and hung up on me. My vet's office did confirm that my cat did have dermatitis and that it was formed from a very large wound with was once her dewclaw had been ripped off.. so I know that it was the groomer who caused this. I will not be back. The groomers are nice but the manager that caused this to be an issue and acted unprofessionally is a problem. Smitten Kitten: A one-of-a-kind Cat Store
